Like so many others, I watched Bob Ross painting on TV for a number of years.  I always was intrigued, but never interested in painting myself.   After  watching tutorials with my family, I asked my wife for a Bob Ross painting kit for Christmas.  It sat on a shelve in my closet for almost ten years.  I was afraid of trying and failing.

One day I decided to take out the kit and see what I could do.  To my surprise, and the surprise of my family, it didn't come out half bad.  In fact, the response from my wife and children was overwhelming.  When I posted my first painting on social media, again the response was very positive.  So, I decided to take a class from a certified Bob Ross Instructor.  One class turned into four classes, and I was hooked.

At the age of sixty-three, I discovered a talent that I had no idea I possessed.  I love painting!  I see the world completely different now.  I see the shadows, hues, shapes, and sizes of everything in nature.  IN the art world, these things are referred to as perspective.

As I sought a name for my new-found "studio," my mother said I should call it "The Peaceful Pastor," since I am a minister.  That didn't quite represent what I was trying to accomplish, but I did like the word "peaceful," since I try to capture the peacefulness and tranquility of Creation.  And, alas, "PEACEFUL PERSPECTIVES was born.
